Our Founder

Tamie Wilson

TAMIE WILSON was born in the heart of Ohio. As a Columbus native, her heart still pumps for the Ohio State Buckeyes. When Tamie was twelve, her family moved to a suburb of Columbus, Westerville. Although she grew up in the city, she dedicated her weekends and summers to the country life in beautiful Gallipolis, Ohio. When she spent time on her uncle's farm, she experienced farm-to-table firsthand as she fed farm animals, gathered eggs for breakfast, and picked vegetables for dinner.

Tamie’s grit and heart to help others were evident early on. By age 8, her parents quickly realized she was a child advocate as she always helped her friends with their problems. In 4th grade, she worked closely with special needs children with down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, autism, etc. Tamie’s love and care for people are an innate part of who she is.

Our Start

Over the years, Tamie has encountered many trials and tribulations, personally and professionally. She has experienced numerous forms of discrimination based on sex, race, age, marital, and parental status. Tamie survived the horror of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment at work.

Despite agonizing challenges in her life, Tamie’s fortitude and relentless perseverance have allowed her to thrive, rise, and always come out on top. With lived experiences and tenacity to live better, Tamie had the courage to leave corporate America to start her own business as a single mom.

Tamie’s confidence and poise did not end with entrepreneurship. Coupled with her passion for problem-solving, she embarked on a selfless path to fill a void by running for United States Congress against Jim Jordan. Ultimately coming up short, she repurposed the defeat into a catalyst for advocacy and activism for the Democratic party in the midwest. Tamie's determination to win and her strategic mind have created a new path to victory for Democrats, hence the establishment of DPAC.
